History:
Earlier Companies existed from 1619 to 1642, from 1663 to 1864, with a re-establishment in 1954 and a Livery granted in 1960. Many Liverymen, totalling over 170, are connected with the trade. Considerable financial support is given to Sevenoaks School; others helped include boys' clubs and the Guildhall School of Music.
