Arms granted 26 May 1533 by Thomas Benolt, Clarenceux King of Arms, to replace an earlier grant (13 August 1451) by Roger Leigh, Clarenceux King of Arms. Crest and Supporters granted 1573 by Robert Cooke, Clarenceux King of Arms.

History:
Articles were applied for in 1348, the first Charter granted in 1473 and accounts date from 1451. The Livery numbers 150. Research is financed at the Institute of Neurology and the City University. School scholarships are awarded and the City and Guilds of London Institute and Art School supported.

The first Hall in Lime Street was built in 1496 on a site bought in 1484 and still owned. It was burned in 1666. The next Hall of 1670 had good interior decorations but these were burned in 1840 and the Hall demolished in 1932. The Oat Lane Hall was opened in 1961 with panelling and chandeliers from Lime Street.
