Ordinances were issued in 1261, and a Charter in 1711. Loriners are makers and vendors of bridles, spurs, stirrups, bits and other metal parts for harness, mainly for horses. Always prominent in City affairs, the Company maintains a close trade connection, awarding training bursaries and conducting an annual examination in Lorinery. There are over 300 Liverymen.

The former Hall existed until 1860 and its site is marked by a plaque on London Wall.
