Formed as a Guild in 1960, they were granted their Livery in 1977. This numbers about 150 and
is composed of professionals engaged in laundering and dry cleaning. A benevolent Trust supports laundry
students by scholarships, medals and books, particularly at the Derby College of Nottingham
University, the Sail Training Association and Outward Bound scheme.
