History:
Ordinances of the Guild were made in 1349 and the first Charter was granted in 1639. Now the Company presents gloves to the Sovereign when crowned and annually to the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress. The best leathercraft student at Nene College receives an award. One-third of the Livery of 265 is connected with the industry.

The former Hall in Beech Lane, Cripplegate existed during the 18th and 19th centuries but had to be given up in 1882 for financial reasons.
