History:
A fraternity was formed in 1311 and received its first Charter in 1482. Technical colleges in London are supported and prizes given to the City and Guilds of London Institute and the Army Catering Corps. There are charities. The Livery, limited to 75, is headed by a Master, Second Master and two Wardens.

The former Hall, on a site in Aldersgate Street purchased in 1500, survived the Great Fire. A new Great Hall was added in 1674 which was destroyed and rebuilt in 1764, but both were burnt down in 1771 and not rebuilt. The Company still owns the site.
