History:
Received a Charter in 1677. Nowadays there are close connections with transport industries. Prizes are given in motor vehicle competitions, the City and Guilds of London Institute is supported, and occasional awards are presented for outstanding advances in transport. There is a Master, three Wardens and a Livery of about 370.

The former Hall was purchased from the Scriveners' Company in 1703, rebuilt in 1842-3 and 1870, but totally destroyed by fire in 1940. It was noteworthy as the meeting place of the Protestant Association which provoked the Gordon Riots.
