On the dexter side a naked Old Man representing Time holding a Scythe and an Hour Glass and on the sinister side the figure of an Emperor robed and crowned holding a Sphere all proper

Granted 31 January 1672 by Sir Edward Walker, Garter King of Arms.

History:
Heavy church clocks were made by blacksmiths but skilled clockmakers received their first Charter in 1631. Today 70 per cent of the Livery of nearly 300 are connected with the trade. A prize is given annually for the best horological student and a splendid collection of clocks and watches maintained at Guildhall.
